Cutting Edge Fitness UncategorizedQuicker Can Be Better
If you look in any gym, you’ll see hordes of people sometimes spending as much as one or two hours working out. These people are under the mistaken belief that they are doing the best kind of exercise for their muscles. Unfortunately, they’re actually mistaken. What happens is that when you do these long extended exercises, you force your body to become more efficient. In order to do that, your body shrinks the muscles so they can operate more effectively as your body tries to horde energy.
Researchers have found that when you do short bursts of exercise and then take brief rest periods, your body responds by burning more fat and building more muscle. So, the good news for you is that you don’t have to do these giant exercise programs in order to get into great shape.
Another very important point is that when your exercise program is brief, there is less wear and tear on your joints. This can help you maintain longevity which is a crucial ingredient to being fit and happy.
When you think about it, it’s really so impractical anyway to lift 300 pounds like some guys do in the gym. I’ve seen some guys that can do it, but they can hardly move around otherwise. They’re heavy and sluggish. In my book, it’s much better to be covered with lean muscle that can perform the way your body was intended.
So, when considering what exercise program you’re going to use to get into shape, you should give some serious consideration to one that quickly and effectively gets your muscles pumped without risking the injuries and muscle degradation that’s possible with long workouts using heavy weights.
