With Vaccines Like This, Why Be Afraid of Extremist Groups?

How close were we to a deadly pandemic in January of this year?

According to several published sources, we were teetering on the brink. That’s because seasonal flu vaccines manufactured by US-based pharmaceutical company Baxter International had been contaminated with the deadly avian flu virus called H5N1.1 The contaminated vaccine made by a Baxter facility in Orth-Donau, Austria was shipped to numerous distributors in Austria, Germany, Slowenia, and the Czech Republic.

Were it not for the good sense of a lab in the Czech Republic that inoculated ferrets with the serum to check its safety, we might now be facing a global pandemic of avian flu — of which there is a 60% mortality rate.2 The fact that the ferrets died soon after they were given the vaccine raised a red flag to scientists and government authorities. Ferrets do not die when exposed to seasonal flu viruses.

What makes this situation even more chilling is that the avian flu virus by itself does not easily infect people. But when mixed with an easily transmissible strain like the seasonal flu virus, the hybrid strain can be just as contagious.

How could Baxter have let this happen? Was it intentional as some people believe? Even the respected Dr. Mercola has his suspicions.4 A pandemic would certainly trigger a worldwide demand for the avian flu vaccine. Baxter happens to be one of only six international companies licensed to develop flu vaccines. If a pandemic occurred…well , you can do the math in terms of profits to be made.

The other possibility is that Baxter was not following its own stringent biosafety protocol to prevent cross-contamination of infectious materials. This protocol, called Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3), if followed, makes it virtually impossible for a situation like this to occur.2

Could a major pharmaceutical company really be so careless in handling an infectious agent that could possibly kill tens of millions of people? If so, should they even be allowed to remain in business? The human race can’t afford mistakes of this magnitude.

Not surprisingly, Baxter has said little on the subject. Christopher Bona, Baxter’s Director of Global Bioscience Communications said the cross-contamination occurred as “the result of a combination of just the process itself, (and) technical and human error in this procedure .”3 He declined to say more because he did not want to reveal proprietary secrets

about their production process. (If anyone wants to steal that kind of production process, they should be first in line for one of Baxter’s vaccines.)

We can only pray that Baxter doesn’t get off the hook with such a vague excuse. They would like nothing better than for this story to just go away so that the American public, which is already skittish about vaccines, doesn’t rise up in total revolt against them.

And sadly enough, the Western media seem to be helping them in keeping the story quiet. Has anyone really heard much about this terrifying near miss from the major news outlets in the US? Do we know if any Baxter employee or executive will be held accountable? Most importantly, can we be assured that this kind of mistake (if it was a mistake) can’t and won’t happen again?

In last week’s issue, I told you about a new group called People for Immunization (PFI) that will be traveling across the US to reassure the public about the safety and necessity of vaccines. Before they give you their sales pitch, let them answer the questions raised in this article.

  1. Duchess Sherri Ann says:

I rarely take any prescription drugs. I do take some OTC drugs - vitamins & supplements. I prefer to rely on food and exercise and herbal supplements to keep me halthy. This was a scary article.

  2. Duchess Sherri Ann says:

Perhaps we should all send a copy of this article to our local newspapers and the ‘rag sheets’ to get some more attention to this item.

  3. Bill says:

Put a link on my opening page and my Health Highlights page 2, and within the site under Vaccines, as the opening page changes monthly.

    http://www.christiankeys.ca#total_health_breakthroughs

You do good work in trying to open the minds of those who so sorely need help. It’s such a job!

  4. J_Ashley Neal says:

I would just say (to Sherri A) that (I believe) it was I who
finally “nagged” Dr.Mercola into investigating this, AFTER
hearing about it On (Georgr Noory’s) Coast to coast AM with
Guest Alex Jones and Dr.S Tenpenny,I believe on 6 Mar 09,
after the “the incident” was reported around Mid Feb09. I
Googled it and found (about 6-8 references) buried several
pages back. Today you will only find 1 or 2){under Baxter
    Intern’l}

I had emailed everyone “responsible” I could think-of…
Mercola was the only one who responded positively..after
that…I never heard a word of acknowledgement..

it’s amazing TO ME how disconnected our “society” has become
regarding such matters,paramount..when government is forcing
vaccines on children (by LAW) and the elderly (over 50 ??)
are almost “bludgeoned” into taking their “flu-shot” !!

Yes it is almost “ghoulishly” scarry…THANK YOU FOR PUB-
LISHING THIS…we shall see IF ANYONE ELSE JUMPS (OR CRAWLS)
    ONTO THIS BANDWAGON !!

  5. Dr Martin Edwards says:

I’ve always avoided the ‘flu jab’. One reason is I don’t trust mass production of something so potentially dangerous. Your story vindicates my concerns, but I hadn’t heard of this one. Very scary. Irresponsibility and human error is clearly not just confined to the Banking system. Big Pharma is also ‘too big to be allowed to fail’ I say publish and be damned. This should not be covered up and left to go quiet. Has anyone taken responsibility for the mistake. Any heads rolled? Probably not, which makes a mockery of Health and Safety regulations. The entire board and senior scientists on the job should be in jail or in sackcloth and ashes at the very least. Oops we’re sorry is just not good enough!

  6. Bob Norsen says:

An equal crime that withholds what could have managed the flu problem if it had occured world wide - The FDA criminal restriction on Silver micro Colloid. When Russia tested their Bio Weapon on Czech people, post WW2, the Czechs had Silver Colloid in their home medicine cabinets. For years they had taken silver if they felt sick and got over it. When the Russian Bio weapon infected Czech wells with typhoid, flu, and worse, the Czech took silver and were not affected by the bio weapon. Never even noticed it.

Silver micro Colloid is a quick safe answer - a genuine cure - for MRSA and the rest of the dread infectious diseases that are sending health care out of reach of the average family. Silver would bring health care costs within easy financial reach of all the world.

The FDA / Pharma collusion is a medical mafia protecting the financial rip off by the Pharma in which the FDA has a major interest. This self serving criminal combo should not be permitted to exist.

  7. Barbara Yeoell says:

Why use vaccinations at all? Alternative medicine in its many varieties always has a remedy that has no side effects.

  8. Barbara Yeoell says:

As I say above, why use vaccinations at all - there are always much healthier alternatives.

  9. Michael X says:

Thanks for this article, for publicize this criminal act. You would think this would have made worldwide headlines, but no, the global pharma-nazis are let off the hook.

  10. Glenn Phillips says:

If one is willing to look at the CEOs and investors in this pharma group it will be relatively easy to find out if this was bio-terrorism or negligence. Either way, it says much against the company that produced the vaccine. I would never trust anything that came from them or even through their hands.

  11. Ninon Perret Gentil says:

Ashley Neil, you are a brave person, thank you.
We should now all take up the responsibility to ‘nag’ our newspapers and friends to this knowledge. I will.

  12. Don Conner says:

They (Baxter) should be investigated and if appropriate, indited for criminal negligence. The consequences of such negligent laboratory “mistakes” is truly too horrific to contemplate. One would think they espoused the eugenics doctrine and were trying to unilaterally attempting to institute it. Ya think?

  13. Fred Becker says:

well I guess that could have killed more people and modified the economics of the world as much as 9/11 did. I am glad some one caught it.

  14. Steve Donohoe says:

If this event was due to gross ineptitude it is certainly ghoulishly scary and if it was intentional it is even more so. If it was a mistake, error the people responsible are obviously too inept to be in the pharmaceutical industry and if it was a deliberate attempt to increase company revenue then they are lacking the necessary moral fibre, conscience to be in the industry. Either way they should be indictable, and banned from operating.

  15. Steve Donohoe says:

P.S. Congratulations to Total Health Breakthroughs for bringing it to peoples notice.

  16. Connie J. Lewis says:

Great topic, excellent headlines… an article sure to captivate readers! Good job Melanie!

Several fascinating points of interest to be considered here:

    1. ” Baxter makes its flu vaccine — including a human H5N1 vaccine for which a licence is expected shortly — at a facility in the Czech Republic.”

    Say what?

    2. “Authorities in both Europe and the U.S. have openly detailed plans for martial law, quarantine and internment should a bird flu pandemic occur.”

    3. “…elites throughout history have openly stated that they want to see a world population reduction of around 80 per cent.”

… all quotes from your references.

Let’s consider a few things about “bird flu”. From Sydney, Australia (CNN) 2/17/06 the report begins by saying:
“As many as 142 million people around the world could die if bird flu turns into a “worst case” influenza pandemic, according to a sobering new study of its possible consequences.

And global economic losses could run to $4.4 trillion — the equivalent of wiping out the Japanese economy’s annual output.”
“But it says even a mild pandemic could kill 1.4 million people and cost $330 billion.”
“In the worst scenario, it said the death toll could reach 28.4 million in China, 24 million in India, 11.4 million in Indonesia, 4.1 million in the Philippines, 2.1 million in Japan, 2.0 million in the United States and 5.6 million in Europe. In the world’s least developed countries, the toll could top 33 million.”

I’m especially curious about those ferrets though. Why is it they don’t die from flu viruses when people do?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an average of 36,000 people a year in the US alone die from the flu, and many of them have had flu shots.

If flu vaccinations worked on flu virus strains that have been around for years, we wouldn’t be losing thousands of people to flu every year, would we?

On the contrary, if 36,000 people each year died from polio, we would not call the polio vaccination program a success!

My conclusion is that our flu vaccination program is, and has always been a dismal failure.

    Now consider three more things:

    1. How many people do you personally know who had a flu shot and got the flu anyway?

    2. Since we know there is NO vaccine or proven treatment for the Avian Bird Flu, has anyone considered how long it might take (minimum of 6 months) to create a vaccine specific to whatever strain of flu the H5N1 mutated into for human to human transmission? As the mutation begins, and continues, it is not likely there would even be a vaccine available for several months… and then, would it work?

    3. How does everyone else feel about ETR’s incredible solution offered at the bottom of this article? Amazing! Here’s their answer to staying healthy the “safe and natural way”: Buy yet something else… a book, no less, from another one of their affiliates.

While I do agree that trying to avoid yearly flu shots, staying healthy the safe and natural way… I hardly think buying a book for $29.95 is a good, way to safeguard ourselves and our families from something this world has never encountered. We’ve heard “epidemic”. Have you ever heard ever your parents or grandparents discuss having lived through a “pandemic”?

You were given an immune system. That is your only God-given hope of survival against any such threat. Ask those who lived in 1918-19 through the outbreak of Spanish flu which infected an estimated 1 billion people and claimed as many as 50 million lives.

I know what I have been, and plan to continue to do. How about you?

Are you ready to face that kind of giant?

  17. Anthony Chung says:

Please find a way to make this public. Some pharmaceutical companies cannot be trusted to do the right thing.

  18. Dr Mark Howard says:

It sounds like the perfect James Bond plot - only much more frightening because it is real ……..

Sometimes the only way to control the actions of large corporations is with public protest …..

As history shows, the government and medical authorities can not be entrusted to make independent rulings for the benefit of everyone.

  19. Jen Thon says:

Now THERE’S a DR that makes sense! I don’t trust many things anymore, but especially Phama and government.

  20. Tom says:

giving this report to any newspaper will not bring any results !! Newsletters live also from ads and the owner will not kill his business !!
only one way to wake the governement up is to kick the representatives near you and you and anybody !
only if themember of parliaments fear about ther posts
    they wake up
so everybody whatever political preferences you have go into your political party and screem your and there head
of. If the politition on the road get fire under ther arss - it takes time but shure you get more results then sending this report to any newsletter

  21. Nicki Penaluna says:

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this was a ‘deliberate mistake’ on the part of the drug company. They seem to stop at nothing to push their so called cures for all disease. What better way than to ‘create’ a pandemic to sell their vaccines. Absolutely terrifying. Thank you for publishing this

  22. anne says:

As an Rn if I remember correctly Baxter had a recall of the I.V. fluids due to contamination so an it surorised about the Flu vaccine

  23. Connie J. Lewis says:

    LET THE PANDEMIC BEGIN!

Well, that didn’t take long, now did it? Anybody read today’s news headlines? “Mexico Swine Flu Deaths Spur Fears” one Associated Press Writer leads with.

You guessed it! Here’s how the article began:

“MEXICO CITY — A unique strain of swine flu is the suspected killer of dozens of people in Mexico, where authorities closed schools, museums, libraries and theaters in the capital on Friday to try to contain an outbreak that has spurred concerns of a global flu epidemic.

The worrisome new virus — which combines genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before — also sickened at least eight people in Texas and California, though there have been no deaths in the U.S.

“We are very, very concerned,” World Health Organization spokesman Thomas Abraham said. “We have what appears to be a novel virus and it has spread from human to human … It’s all hands on deck at the moment.”

The outbreak caused alarm in Mexico, where more than 1,000 people have been sickened. Residents of the capital donned surgical masks and authorities ordered the most sweeping shutdown of public gathering places in a quarter century.

President Felipe Calderon said his government only learned late Thursday, with the help of international laboratories, what kind of virus Mexico is faced with. “We are doing everything necessary,” he said after meeting with his Cabinet to coordinate a response. “We understand the seriousness of the problem.”

The WHO was convening an expert panel to consider whether to raise the pandemic alert level or issue travel advisories.

It might already be too late to contain the outbreak, a prominent U.S. pandemic flu expert said late Friday.

Given how quickly flu can spread around the globe, if these are the first signs of a pandemic, then there are probably cases incubating around the world already, said Dr. Michael Osterholm at the University of Minnesota.

In Mexico City, “literally hundreds and thousands of travelers come in and out every day,” Osterholm said. “You’d have to believe there’s been more unrecognized transmission that’s occurred.”

NOT SURPRISING however… the article went on to say:

“There is no vaccine that specifically protects against swine flu, and it was unclear how much protection current human flu vaccines might offer. A “seed stock” genetically matched to the new swine flu virus has been created by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, said Dr. Richard Besser, the agency’s acting director. If the government decides vaccine production is necessary, manufacturers would need that stock to get started.”

And even less surprising to those of us following this particular column, the article closed with the following comments:

“CDC officials described the virus as having a unique combination of gene segments not seen before in people or pigs. The bug contains human virus, avian virus from North America and pig viruses from North America, Europe and Asia. It may be completely new, or it may have been around for a while and was only detected now through improved testing and surveillance, CDC officials said.

The most notorious flu pandemic is thought to have killed at least 40 million people worldwide in 1918-19. Two other, less deadly flu pandemics struck in 1957 and 1968.”

These were today’s headlines folks. Keep one eye peeled for just how quickly Avian Bird Flu will suddenly show it’s ugly head around the globe. And everyone will be asking how this could’ve possibly have happened!

  24. Ross Senovsky says:

Yes, since you have the facts you are reporting here why not to go or try to go public? Newspapers, magazines, TV news, etc.
Surely there must be someone out there in the media circles who is just as concern as we all are.
    What do you think?

  25. Suz says:

I agree with all of these comments. I am much more scared about the flu shot than I am about the flu.

If people were taught how to eat better (the food pyramid doesn’t do it for a lot of people), insurance paid back for you to go to alternative care docs like naturopaths, and the US reimbursed companies to make the healthiest products, we would have money in the federal caufers and the healthcare in America wouldn’t be in shambles.

  26. catherine says:

    follow the money folks!
simple as that … sad to say.

We must all take our own health into perspective and do what we can to help ourselves, and our families.

Blessings to all whom act positively in this manner AND whom are working to react positively against such a negative ‘doom & gloom’ enterprise as ‘big pharma’.
