The extroverts have it —at least when it comes to living to a ripe old age. Scientists say that people who are outgoing are 50% less likely to develop dementia. They’re even more likely to live to be 100.
Another trait extroverts share? A recent study shows they’re not easily stressed. Their brains withstand old age better due to lower levels of stress hormones. Among other assaults on your body, these hormones interfere with brain cell communication.
Here’s a tip from Jim LaValle on getting your stress levels down. Make sure you are getting enough of the “calming” mineral magnesium. Good sources are green leafy vegetables, wheat germ, and bran.
