CoQ10 Has Arrived!
In last Wednesday’s Undercover, I told you about the remarkable energy boost I get from taking the supplement CoQ10. I take 200 mg in a regular gel cap. While the benefits have been great, I’ve just found out that a new and improved form will work even better - and at a lower dose. It’s so much improved, that Dr. Al Sears says it’s 8 times more powerful than regular CoQ10.
The Risks of the Fast-Tracked Flu Vaccine
Most of us in the alternative health field have reservations about the government’s rush to inoculate nearly everyone with the swine flu vaccine this fall and winter. With the possibility of adverse effects from the vaccine itself and the heavy metals that are used as preservatives, we must continue to ask ourselves, “What is the greater risk… the flu or the vaccine?”
Read on to learn more about why these concerns continue to mount…
Last week Dr. Jonathan Fielding, Los Angeles County’s health officer remarked at a news conference that three shots of the vaccine may be needed for adequate protection of the swine (H1H1) flu. He also urged medical personnel to sign up for the vaccine before treating the public.1
Meanwhile, the CDC is recommending that the most at-risk populations receive the vaccine first. These groups include pregnant women, healthcare workers, parents and caregivers for children under 6 months old, people ages 6 months to 24 years, and those ages 25 through 64 with chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.
It sounds like a well-thought out plan — provide sufficient vaccine to cover all strains of the flu and protect the most vulnerable. That is, until you read an August 15 article from a major British newspaper, with the following headline:
Protect Yourself from the Flu and the Vaccine
Have you noticed that the media chatter regarding the expected flu pandemic has been ramping up lately? Could it be because pharmaceutical giants like Baxter and Novartis are moving full speed ahead to prepare for mass inoculations around the globe of H1N1 (swine) flu vaccines by this fall?
I hope the name Baxter rings a bell. In the April 15 issue of Undercover, I wrote about how Baxter’s seasonal flu vaccine had been contaminated with the deadly avian flu virus at one of their facilities in Austria. This “mistake” would very likely have resulted in millions of deaths if it was not caught in time by a lab in the Czech Republic.
Since I researched that article, I made a personal decision to avoid a flu shot at all costs. I have also warned friends and family that a mild case of the flu may ultimately be safer than the long term health effects of the vaccine.
But now I have some news to share that may even protect you from the flu itself, thanks to an enlightening article I recently read by John J. Cannell, MD.1 Dr. Cannell is a psychiatrist at Atascadero State Hospital in California, a maximum security hospital for psychiatric patients. In 2005, an influenza A epidemic broke out in the hospital. One by one, each ward became infected as patients came down with chills, fever, cough, and severe body aches.
Only one ward in the hospital remained free of infection — Dr. Cannell’s. Why was this so? His patients intermingled with patients from other wards and were not noticeably different in their age, health, or medical treatment.
The only difference that could be discerned was that Dr. Cannell’s patients had been receiving a daily dose of 2000 IU of vitamin D for several months. That’s it. All of his patients took vitamin D and not one caught the flu!
Dr. Cannell’s research then led him to some remarkable discoveries about the effectiveness of vitamin D as a potent antibiotic and antiviral. Vitamin D boosts the body’s production of antimicrobial peptides, a class of proteins that quickly destroys the cell walls of bacteria, viruses (including influenza) and fungi. These peptides also keep the lungs free from infection.
Big Pharma Gets Rich on Fear-Mongering
Why have so many people at the top levels of government reacted to the “swine flu” as if it were going to wipe out half of the population? Here are a few examples of what I’m talking about:
- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in California to ensure state resources met the “health threat.”
- Governor Rick Perry did the same in Texas and also suspended high school sporting events until May 11.
- President Obama jumped on the bandwagon in late April asking Congress for an additional $1.5 billion in his supplemental budget to help fight the swine flu outbreak.
- Vice President Biden announced on TV that he advised his family to avoid confined places, airline travel, and riding the subway.
Yet according to a special report by Dr. Lisa Forgione published last week in Total Health Breakthroughs, this flu strain “is no worse than the seasonal flu that usually strikes every winter.” And in fact it may be nothing more than a late outbreak of the yearly seasonal flu.
The CDC is currently reporting there are only three confirmed deaths in the US from swine flu and 2618 total cases. Compare these numbers to the following: A Gallup Poll says more than 12 million people are ill from common flu strains on any given day in the US, and another 5,000 Americans die every year from foodborne illnesses like E. coli, Salmonella and Hepatitis A.1 In comparison, the latter statistics dwarf the number of people that have been affected by swine flu. Yet, we hear nothing about them.
Everything You Need To Know About “The Swine Flu”
The recent outbreak of swine flu is causing widespread panic and concern among many people, but by all indications, it is no worse than the seasonal flu that usually strikes every winter.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has determined that the current strain of swine flu is caused by a new type of influenza A virus. There are four viral sub-types, one found in humans, one in birds and two in swine. The swine sub-type is causing the flu in humans in the United States. It is spread from pigs to humans and then from humans to humans.
The CDC believes that the current outbreak of swine flu (officially called the H1N1 flu) started in March 2009 in certain areas of Mexico. Mexico is currently reporting the largest number of cases at 727, with 26 deaths confirmed at this time. There is one confirmed death in the United States and 403 total cases. These cases are spread among 38 states in the continental US.
People do not normally get the swine flu. The CDC has determined that this swine sub-type is contagious and is spreading from human to human, through large airborne droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets contain the virus and spread the illness fairly easily.
Have you been exposed to swine flu? New York, Texas, California, Delaware and Arizona are the states reporting the most number of cases. Recent travel to Mexico and contact with an infected person there are also risk factors.
