One of the Top Family Doctors of 2009 chosen by the Consumers' Research Council of America.

I chose to practice Emergency Medicine for two reasons: the amazing difference it makes in people’s lives and the balance it allows in my own life.

Working around 30 hours per week when I’m not on call lets me research, write and teach about the issues that are dear to my heart: women’s health, anti-aging, nutrition for wellness, cardiovascular and weight training, relaxation techniques and the non-pharmacological management of pain.

I’m my own guinea pig. After extensive research on a topic, I try it out on myself first. That way, I am able to honestly share what works and what doesn’t.

I believe the most essential things in life are balance and conscious awareness. Both of these are attainable for every person on this planet…they actually go hand in hand.

It is my privilege and a great honor to be part of the Total Health Breakthroughs editorial board, and to help you move forward in your life’s journey with healthy, positive changes.

Last but not least, I attended the University of Buffalo and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Organic Chemistry. Medical school at SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse was my next stop. I completed a Family Medicine residency and it’s been 15 remarkable years in the ER…learning about life, people and myself.
