You’ve tried every diet out there but you’re still losing the “battle of the bulge”. You’re not alone: there are 65 million Americans who are now obese. But you could never become obese, right? Sleep Deprivation Delivers Double Diabetes Risk

Everyone knows that not getting enough sleep can make you cranky, but did you know it will also make you fat… and possibly fatally ill?

Most people believe everyone has their own sleep requirements and that how it varies makes little difference. But I can tell you that it makes a very big difference.

Lack of sleep delivers a double whammy:

  • First you gain weight…
  • Then you have an increased risk of type 2 diabetes.

Just from not sleeping? You bet.

I’ll give you some tips for getting better sleep in a few minutes. Meanwhile, here’s the deal…

It turns out that when you’re sleep deprived, your body develops symptoms of insulin resistance. And it doesn’t take long. It happens as soon as you build up any sort of sleep debt.

PSA Screenings: a Money-Making Scam

If I told you that prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screenings were more about making money than your health, you might think I was crazy. After all, 30 million men can’t be wrong, can they?

But screenings are not only virtually pointless but potentially harmful too. And most of the players in the medical community know it. The feds know it. The American Cancer Society knows it. Even the guy who discovered PSA’s knows it. In fact, the only group that doesn’t know it is Joe Public, who’s out there blindly taking the tests!!

Simply put: PSA testing can’t detect cancer; it can’t even distinguish between malign and benign prostate cancers. So why are 30 million American men still taking the tests? Because it’s become a big money-making industry; generating $3 billion per year.

What is PSA Screening?

PSA is a protein created by the prostate gland. It is found in small amounts in the blood of healthy men. Men with prostate cancer may show elevated levels. However, so too do men with benign prostate enlargement.

From “Caveman” to “Iron Man”: How Robert Downey, Jr. Got in Superhero Shape

Forget about conventional cardio and gym workouts. A different type of routine can really deliver results. If you want proof, just check out Robert Downey, Jr. in Iron Man 2.

Downey was fresh off the set of Sherlock Holmes. He needed to build 20 pounds of muscle for his next role in three months. He turned to his long-time trainer, Brad Bose, for help.

“He was tired of the current regime and challenged me to make it fun,” Bose told THB.

The heat was on: spindly detective to “Iron Man” in just three months.

Rethink, Rebuild

Downey weighed in at 151 pounds on the set of Sherlock Holmes. He’d worked with Bose to shed body weight to play the thin, cerebral detective. But when the film wrapped, the two knew he’d have to build sinewy muscle to play a Marvel superhero. And they only had 12 weeks to do it.

Don’t Let Your Child Become a Statistic: Beat the Diabetic Epidemic

For the first time since modern medicine came into play, the next generation of children may not live as long as their parents.

Adult-only ailments like obesity and diabetes are now our children’s problem. Thirty years ago, type 2 diabetes was an old man’s problem. No longer: kids who aren’t even in their teens are being diagnosed with it. And in frightening numbers. The incidence of children taking meds for type 2 diabetes has increased 150 percent in just 10 years. That’s a shocking statistic and one that could impact your family today. That’s because a major contributor to that statistic is in almost everything your child eats. And it’s not something you’re likely to be aware of.

What is causing this epidemic? How is it happening? And who is destroying your child’s health? We have all those answers for you. But even more importantly, we’ll tell you how to help your child beat the diabetic epidemic.

The Diabetes-Obesity Link

There’s a much-documented link between obesity and diabetes. Overweight children – who used to be few and far between – are now everywhere.

Your Child is in Danger! Only You Can Save Them

There’s a man out there who’s trying to get your three-year old hooked on hard-core drugs. He’s a guy you respect and look up to. He’s a guy you know and trust: someone who’s been in your child’s life since they were born.

He’s a friend of the family: just looking out for you. And he’ll convince you he’s doing this for your kids: that they need these drugs for their own good. He may even set your kids up for free – at first. ‘Just a sample: it’s on the house. Give it a try – you’re gonna like it…’

And he’s got a big bag full of tricks: all kinds of pretty pills. Pretty pills that will help your kid: colorful candy that will improve your kid.

Like Pouring Gas on a Wildfire

As you age, you have a good chance of being affected by changes in blood sugar levels. Why? One in four Americans over 60 struggles with this problem. But here’s something you need to know before you begin treatment.

The American Diabetes Association’s (ADA’s) recommended diet is like pouring gas on a wild fire. It’s ironic how it sets out to help people with blood sugar issues, yet it just ends up hurting them.

Take a look…

The cornerstone of the ADA’s diet program is to lower fat intake.

But the notion that eating fats will make you fat is a fundamental mistake. For most people, excess insulin makes them fat and not the fat itself.

The ADA also recommends high fiber foods, yet it doesn’t stress caution about starches like whole grains. You might be surprised to know that whole grains spike your blood sugar more than sugary foods.

The Curious Case of “Pink” Fried Chicken in the Fight Against Cancer

I hope you’re sitting down for this one…

It’s called “Buckets for the Cure.”

In the guise of raising money for breast cancer, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (the largest grass-roots breast cancer group in the world) has teamed up with fast food giant KFC.

And decided to sell KFC chicken in pink cardboard buckets…

Yes, the Colonel is now pretty in pink… for The Cure.

And why not? After all, the KFC franchise is in business to make money. The bigger question is what is the Komen foundation thinking?

Once again, it becomes obvious that Cancer is little more than big business…

Komen is not at all selective about what causes cancer, or what might cure cancer. (They still recommend mammograms…a subject we can explore more in depth in a future issue.) This KFC campaign is a perfect example of “greed-colored-pink.”

Cut Your Risk of Any Cancer in Half – Starting Today!

The mainstream medical establishment doesn’t want you to know this… because they make so much money by keeping you in the dark…

But you can cut your risk of contracting any form of cancer in half – right now – with the information in this article.

Cancer is caused by stress – biological, psychological, chemical and physical stress. In modern times the stress has increased geometrically because of pollution, artificial foods and other factors.

But eons ago Nature created an antidote to stress – a natural hormone that stimulates the body’s immune system. If you make full use of this natural defense, studies show you can cut your risk of cancer in half.

I am talking about the world’s strongest anti-cancer hormone. In terms of prevention, it is probably a thousand times stronger than any substance that the medical and drug industry has ever come up with.

Leptin – The Hunger Hormone

Insulin is just one of the hormones that affects our hunger mechanism and fat storage. Leptin is another. It was discovered in 1994 by researchers who were studying a genetic line of mice that continually consumed food until they became morbidly obese.

The scientists discovered that these mice were missing a particular hormone. When the researchers injected this hormone into the animals, it curbed their appetite, stimulated their fat-burning metabolism and restored them to a normal body weight.

They called the hormone leptin, derived from the Greek word for "thin."

We have now come to understand that leptin is a powerful messenger hormone. It helps perform countless functions in the body, two of which are extremely beneficial when it comes to hunger and body fat:

It sends a signal to your brain that you are full. This shuts down your hunger mechanism.

It also signals the fat inside your cells to break down into a usable form for energy.

When these signals are working, you stay feeling full for longer. And your fat is burned for fuel, helping you to stay slim.

Are you resistant to leptin?
